Hi, I’m Richard. I’m on a mission to help people and businesses communicate with confidence.

I have worked in journalism, PR and communications for 20 years. During that time, I have media trained and advised CEOs, developed and delivered multi-channel communication campaigns, and gained extensive national and international coverage. I have developed communication strategies to defend the reputation of businesses and allow them control the narrative even at times of crisis.

I’ve managed, written and edited a multitude of corporate publications, from annual reports to research summaries. My approach is always to set out a clear and compelling story which builds trust and confidence.

Outside of work, I’ve put my communication skills to the ultimate test, by writing and performing my own, five-star-rated storytelling theatre shows. I wrote a popular blog which had over 100,000 views, and recently started a communications Substack newsletter, Richard Purnell is Writing.
